A walk-in robe is one of the most requested upgrades in new builds around Shellharbour and Kiama, and one of the easiest to get wrong. Too narrow and it feels like a corridor; too much open hanging and it looks cluttered.

How much space you need

  • Single-sided: about 1.5 m wide (600 mm of robe plus a 900 mm walkway)
  • Two-sided: about 2.1 m wide
  • U-shaped: about 2.1 m wide and 2 m deep
  • With an island: add roughly 1.2 m to the width

Plan around what you own

Before we draw anything we count the long hanging, the shirts, the shoes and the folded clothes. Most people need far more drawers and short hanging than they expect, and far less long hanging.

The details that feel luxurious

  • LED strip lighting that switches on when you walk in
  • Full-extension drawers with soft-close runners
  • An island with a stone top for folding and jewellery
  • Open shoe shelving at eye level
  • A full-length mirror on the back of the door

We draft every robe in 3D first, so you can see the layout before anything is made.
